BIOTAL GW 3000 is an environmentally friendly biological cleaning product. Its cleaning technology is based on using specially selected enzymes to clean areas affected by grey water waste storage.
Used in grey water waste tanks, it will ensure that the residues that occur during grey water waste storage are removed from tanks in an effective and environmentally friendly manner.
The residual product will degrade in the disposal environment. It is supplied in 55 gallon drums.

Grey water waste and grey water waste tanks
Grey water waste comes from the galley, baths, sinks, showers and laundries and is normally stored in grey water tanks before discharge. Severe corrosion can occur in grey water tanks as a consequence of the build up of fat residues on the inner tank surfaces, the fats coming either from galley waste or human body fats from showers and bathrooms. These fats can form a thick, greasy coating on the inside of the tank, and become a haven for anaerobic bacteria. As these bacteria break down the fat and other waste materials, fatty acids are formed within the deposit, leading to localized areas of very low pH, which then attack the walls of the tank.
Even if the tanks have been lined to prolong the life of the tank, the effects of the low pH can result in failure of the lining – even the normal epoxy type tank linings. To replace a failed lining is an extremely costly and difficult exercise.
Although grey water can contain low levels of bacteria from laundry water or from shower and bath water, fresh grey water does not smell unpleasant. However, during storage in the grey water tanks, oxygen levels are very quickly depleted and the system becomes anaerobic. Septic conditions set in, which can make the tank extremely foul smelling.

Removal of solids and deposits from the inside of the tanks removes both the food source for the anaerobic bacteria, and the bacteria themselves, which has the additional benefit of reducing the levels of odours coming from the tanks.
Removal of the deposits via a grey water waste tank cleaning and maintenance programe using BIOTAL GW 3000 will have huge benefits in terms of prolonging the life of tanks and eliminating foul odors.
How it works
BIOTAL GW 3000 contains billions of naturally occurring, non toxic micro-organisms selected specifically for their ability to produce extra-cellular enzymes.
The enzymes produced by BIOTAL GW 3000 bacteria breakdown materials associated with the grey water waste are broken down. Materials such as cellulose, proteins, starches, fats and greases to form simpler materials such as fatty acids, amino acids, sugar and then finally converting them to carbon dioxide and water given sufficient time and when used according to the application instructions.
Application:
It is recommended to dose the product straight into the grey water tank, letting it sit for 2 – 3 days for BIOTAL GW 3000 to have maximum effect and then pump the product and grey water out of the cleaned tanks.
